Hey Judith, you can use most templates with shopping carts, I would say. One of the most popular is WooCommerce (you can also look for the ‘woocommerce-ready’ tag when choosing a template). If you are planning to sell digital products, Easy Digital Downloads is a good choice. Both options also offer a free version so you can test them with your current theme before committing.

As for the image option, what you are describing is called a lightbox. There are several plugins around for this behavior. One that I have had good experience with is https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-featherlight/.

Hi: We love the template. The site turned out really well.

We are now thinking about adding a shopping cart. I don’t see anything that says the template is compatible with that functionality. If it is, do you have one you recommend?

Also, is there a way to load small images and click on them to show larger versions?
