However, I want to choose another Starter theme but I can’t find it anymore. Is it possible they made some themes available exclusively on setup? It’s called “UX Blog” under Art & Design.

You’re wrong. WordPress’ is correct.

It does have the option to choose between frameworks and is under active development .

I find it highly intuitive and easy to use, and relatively easy to extend via addition of custom CSS code. But not sure whether it is limited, lighter weight and less flexible compared to the 5 solutions described here.

But I think this was because I didn’t use sass, grunt and all that other stuff. Then I realized that having all that in a theme could assist the developer using FP to fine tune how they want the theme built. They could change a ton of variables and so on.

So I can def see how this would be appealing to some developers.

One the other hand, I have chosen to use the “Keep it simple stupid” approach when creating my themes with Foundation for Sites. I’ve had a lot of people tell me they like the fact that they do not have to worry about using sass and other stuff. They just want to activate and change things with css.

So this is what I have done with my two Foundation based themes, WP-Forge and the latest one, TotalPress.

Now don’t get me wrong, I have had a lot of people ask me if there would be sass versions of both themes and i always say eventually. Maybe with TotalPress I will create a sass version and see how it goes.

We shall see. Until next time FoundationPress keep pressing on 😉

It’s by far the most popular WP framework. Some Genesis developers have even built hybrid Genesis themes based on Underscores, Bones and Foundation.
