Hey David, thanks for the kind words! These days, all WordPress themes should be mobile adaptive out of the box. The biggest factor here, in my opinion, is speed. When choosing a theme, make sure it performs well. To that end, it often makes sense to stay away from all-in-one themes that are loaded with features and instead go for a theme that is specialized for your particular purpose. Here’s a post on how to speed test your site to find out if your theme is slowing it down: https://torquemag.io/2019/03/how-to-speed-test-your-website/

Plugins are fine, but what about Themes?
There is a wide range to choose from and I have no easy way of checking if they work well.
David

Is there any way to keep our website load speedily on such keypad mobile phones?

Hey Paul, sometimes it’s the most obvious things that we miss, especially when we are too close to the problem. There are solutions to add calls to action inside your content, maybe that would be an option for you? Thanks for the comment!

I stumbled on your site after discovering on another site that sidebars don’t show up on mobile devices. Pretty obvious, really, but I missed it.
I have a couple of my novels on my sidebars with links to Amazon but they can’t be seen on mobile devices.

Hey there, the mobile-friendliness test checks whether your site fulfills all the technical requirements for being mobile accessible. It does not make any calls about whether your design is good. What do you mean by “messed up”? It is normal that the mobile design looks quite different than what you see on desktop. That is just due to the space constraints on smaller screens. However, it is different if your site becomes unusable. In that case, you might have to take action.

Thank you. However, I went to the website it suggested to check and see if my wordpress site is mobile friendly. It ran the test and the result said that my site is indeed mobile friendly. However, when I pull up my website on my iphone it looks all messed up and very different than the way it shows on my desktop. So how can it be mobile friendly? Am I missing something here? Please HELP!
