Hey Greg, thanks for chiming in and making a valid point. It’s true that, in order to have a more eco-friendly website, you need to reduce the amount of resources it uses. Our linked article on this topic says similar things.

However, the post above is more about pointing out which trends currently exist in the ecommerce sphere and raising awareness. It is not advice that you should implement every single one of them and not all of them will be compatible with one another, as you rightly mention.

E-commerce is the absolute opposite of ecology and your whole point about “going green” is so wrong.
If you really want to go green, packaging is one thing, but getting rid of chatbots and scripts and whatnots is what is required. You can’t have a “green” website with chatbots and geotargetting and user tracking.
